picture3Hi Suzanne,

I loved the picture of your striped pajamas. My sister and I always received new pajamas for Christmas when we were kids, and it appears that Santa Claus and Grandma Hale shopped at the same store. Unfortunately, our pajamas only came with one of those cool tasseled caps, and there were often disagreements about whose turn it was to wear that wonderful hat. I'm the one with the cap, so I must have won that round, although in the picture I'm still pouting about having to share! Susan

Dear Suzanne: I would love to send you a photo of my grandson in his pj's and shall ask my daughter to forward. Actually, I don't wear PJ's any more. I'm a nightgown person since about 1964 (I'm 70 now). Maybe I can get a photo of me in a pair of my husband's pjs.

When I was a kid, I had pj's, of course and wore them all through college. I think I changed to nightgowns when I got married. I even remember making my daughter's flannel pjs and sewing a cotton nightgown for myself. We would go into the fabric shop and she would select the fabric she liked and then I'd make it for her. That way, she was sure to wear them.

Thanks for the opportunity to enter your contest. I always like to enter. Remember the time my husband won the bubble machine? The only time we ever really won anything! Barbara

Hi Suzanne,

My 2 girls loved the footie pjs. They usually got a new pair every Christmas and could throw out the old ones they were wearing. Christmas mornings under the tree were always in pajamas. Now this continues with my grandson.

I recently received some Karen Neuberger 3 piece pajamas and really love them. Cool in summer and warm in winter. Before that I was a nightgown wearer, but now I am converted to PJs.  Love the PJ party idea. Carol

Suzanne,

The best time of the day is always when the hectic rushing of the day is done and baths are finished and everybody gets into their pyjamas to snuggle with a good book. It was the most eagerly anticipated time when the snuggler was a little boy in his Thomas or dinosaur pyjamas and it still is, even though now the boy is 19, only sleeps at home on college breaks and doesn't exactly snuggle. But we do get a hugs "goodnight". That makes it still the best time of the day. Mela

When my daughters were young, Santa used to give them pyjamas or a nightgown each for Christmas. We would always take a picture of them in front of the tree or the fireplace, holding their stockings. Now my grandkids are enjoying the same tradition, too. This week I'm staying with two of them while their mommy and daddy are away celebrating their tenth anniversary. Last night they crawled into the queen-sized bed on either side of me to hear bedtime stories...in their newest pyjamas! Oh, the memories.... Phyllissoto

What a wonderful idea, it makes me feel cozy just thinking about it.

When I was about 9 my mother made me a nightgown for Christmas. This wouldn't be a big deal for some people but my mother didn't sew. We had an old sewing machine that would only sew a straight stitch and you had to coax it into doing that much! She sewed every night after we had gone to bed and managed to do it without me knowing about it. When she gave it to me it had a note attached that read "with love in every stitch". It may sound like we had a wonderful family but I think we defined the word dysfunctional....it was even more special because of that. I don't speak of my childhood to a lot of people but you share so much of your life with us that it's like talking to a good friend. Thank you for what you do. : ) Mary

When I was young my Grandmother would sew flannel nightgowns for me-I loved them. I would help her pick the material. I still prefer nightgowns! Vicki

picture4Hi Suzanne,

My family and I love pajama days. We try to have one pajama day a month. It's great to stay in cozy jams and play board games, watch movies and snuggle on the couch reading books. At Christmas time I always buy new Christmas theme jammies for everyone. It's a tradition at our house. Thank you for inviting us to your pajama party. Sincerely, Davene and her 4 boys
