PJ4-PIC2Hi Suzanne,

I started a new tradition this past Christmas for my kids.  My daughter, Emilie, is 5 and my son, Aiden, was just born in August.  This being Aiden’s first Christmas, I wanted to do something that I hadn’t done before.  I thought it’d be really cute to buy Christmas pjs, get both of their names embroidered on them, and have professional photos done.  We braved the cold and had pictures taken in their pjs at a Christmas tree farm.  And of course, they wore their pjs on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning!  My daughter loved the idea of this new tradition, so we’ll be doing this every year from now on.  Who knows, maybe next year my husband and I will wear our pjs and get in the picture with them! Hi Suzanne,

My twin sister, Marilyn and I have always been told we were “as alike as two peas in a pod.” And we are! Even our taste in clothes is alike. Although we live two states apart, we get together every year, usually at the old family cabin in the Montana woods. A few years ago we happened to purchase the same pajamas! Flannel, with coffee cups on them. They were just the thing, we decided, to take on our annual trek to the cabin. The cabin is very rustic. There is a pump for water and an outhouse rather than an indoor bathroom. One night, we were up very late playing Scrabble, when “nature called.”  Out we tramped, flashlight in hand, to the “two-holer.” As we both took our positions we started laughing uncontrollably. Sitting there, in our identical pajamas, we were “as alike as two pees on a pot!” Carolyn

Dear Suzanne, What an amazing response to your pj party letter. When my 2 boys were very little I made them matching pj's and they wore them for the first time on Christmas eve. They still remember them, even though they were only supposed to open the gifts from their paternal grandparents in Germany. It was a shame when they finally outgrew them. I am really entering the column as I was interested in the book of journals. If you could tell me where I might find them I would appreciate it. A year ago I had major surgery and had my bowel removed. I am amazed at how little education I received both before and after the operation. I am starting a journal of my own and hope to be able to answer all the questions that other ostomates have.Thank you for all the inspiration you give to so many. Harriet

Hi Suzanne!

I have been following along with all of the pajama stories and I love them!  Today when I read about your pajama dinner it brought back a memory from my childhood.

When I was young, I would go and visit my Aunt in the summer.  Sometimes I was even able to stay for a whole week!  I remember one visit where I ran out of clean clothes.  I can’t remember why that is, but I remember that we were getting ready to go out for dinner and I had nothing to wear.  (I guess that starts early for us gals!)  The only thing left in my suitcase was a beautiful pastel colored pajama set, complete with little ruffled sleeves and little ruffled shorts.  By the way I pranced around that evening you would have thought I was wearing a ball gown!
