Seth wanted to build something with my husband. The original plan was a tree house, but then Grandpa saw this unfinished wooden boat on Craigslist and decided it would fit perfectly in the tree. Everyone thought Grandpa was crazy, until they saw the finished tree house. (Well, almost finished.) Seth and Grandpa ran out of time, so I’m going to help my husband finish the job.

James and Paul, our other two grandchildren inspecting their boat-in-a-tree. At first, Paul was a little disappointed that it wasn’t an actual tree house, but then Grandpa explained that it was a “house boat.” Rope ladders, a flag and other nautical gear are still being added.
