Gems I can’t part with and a reader agrees

My husband and I were married by the Justice of the Peace in Dubuque, Iowa 43 years ago. I owned a restaurant (The Cutting Board), so I wrote on one of my guest checks the date and time: 11:45 a.m. to remind me I was going to miss our lunch rush!
