Suzanne,
Love your daily emails! I feel like I've known you for years!!
Here is a cookie recipe that I've been making for (I hate to say it) almost 50 years (how can that be??)!
I remember my high school home ec class and a recipe booklet from Wesson Oil (I can see the cover in my mind but have long lost the book). But I wrote this recipe from it down years ago and I still make it and my daughter (loves to bake) makes them sometimes also. So, from years ago (I graduated from high school in 1961), here it is....
Ginger Crinkles Cookies
2/3 cup Wesson Oil 1 cup sugar 1 egg 4 T molasses 2 cups sifted flour 2 t baking soda 1/2 t salt 1 t cinnamon 1 t ginger Plus sugar for dipping
Mix Wesson Oil and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Stir in molasses. Sift dry ingredients together and add. Form teaspoon size balls and coat in sugar. Bake at 350 for about 12 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Hope you like them! Linda Miller
