Happy Birthday Jerry

Paul’s Uncle Jim bought him a baker’s hat for the occasion. The buttercream frosting tastes fantastic, but it’s a messy cake to make. Paul uses the green dish towel you see in the photo to cover the mixer when he first turns it on, so the powdered sugar doesn’t fly all over the room.

That’s the birthday “boy” blowing out his candle. The cake was a highlight of the surprise party!

Paul also made some white buttercream frosting and tinted some of it a teal color and some of it pink. It’s the first time he used a piping bag to frost and write on a cake.
