Cookies-Debbie-083109Dear Suzanne,

Your cookies arrived the day before our family left for vacation so we took them along with us! They were delicious and made our trip even better! I am attaching a picture of us relaxing with the cookies after a busy day swimming and hiking in Virginia. (I am on the right, my son, Wayne, is in the middle, and our friend, Summer, is on the left.) My local library enjoyed your cookies, too. I received a note from Mary Ann Bursk, our library director, praising your cookies and appreciating our support. She is hopeful that the library's government funding will be saved. I am certainly glad to hear that!

Thank you so much for the cookies, and especially for your daily column. I look forward to each one. Your column and the book excerpt brighten every morning!

sherry-turtleI am attaching a picture of myself with the turtle you sent. He is absolutely adorable, as my grandchildren will attest. I received him yesterday, the day after my 51st birthday!! What a nice surprise! Four of our six grandchildren were here with their mom and I was heading out to pick up the other two when I saw the box on the front porch. I took it in and let little three year old Lincoln open it, because he was sad that his mommy told him he could not go with me to pick up Kadence and Kaylee (his favorite cousin who is also three). He was thrilled!! He played with it all day yesterday and is carrying it around with him today. (I babysit him and his little sister Cagney Monday through Friday during the school year.) The fact that the turtle's belly honks and every leg squeaks just makes it all the better! Thank you so very much for your generous spirit. It turned a crying scene into one of joy. In Christ, Sherry Simino
